A&W is coming back to Bedok. Orange hoarding at Bedok Mall now reads "Opening Soon Oct 2026" with the chain's Root Beer, Coney Dogs, curly fries, chicken, burgers, and waffles listed along the fascia. Facebook user Amber Rose Diesel posted the storefront in August. MoneyDigest picked it up on 23 August 2026. A&W Singapore has not posted an official outlet page or a calendar date yet.
That is enough to plan around, and not enough to queue for on 1 October. The hoarding is the primary fact. The exact unit, opening hour, and launch deal are still blank. CapitaLand's Bedok Mall events listing was empty when checked in early September, so do not expect a mall press page until closer to fit-out.
Why this hoarding matters in Bedok
Older residents remember A&W at Bedok Central, at Block 204 Bedok North Street 1, near the old community library and bus interchange. That outlet is long gone. The new one sits inside Bedok Mall at 311 New Upper Changi Road, which connects directly to Bedok MRT (EW5) at Basement 2 and to the bus interchange above. If you already shop FairPrice or eat at McDonald's in the mall, this is a detour of a few shopfronts, not a trip to Tampines Junction.
A&W's tenth Singapore outlet opened at Tampines Junction in December 2025. Bedok Mall would put a second east-side restaurant on the East-West Line, which is the point. You will not need the DTL hop to Tampines for a Root Beer Float once this unit trades.
What the hoarding actually promises
The Bedok Mall boards name the usual A&W Singapore line, not a mystery menu. Expect:
- Root Beer and Root Beer Floats, mixed in-house
- Coney Dogs and curly fries
- Burgers, fried chicken, and waffles
MoneyDigest notes that current A&W Singapore menus also carry onion rings, Coney Cheese Fries, rice boxes, and waffle sundaes. None of that is confirmed for the Bedok Mall unit until the brand publishes a store locator entry. Treat the hoarding as a product list, not a price list. Do not show up in October asking for a $2.50 float from an old promotion at another outlet.
Other A&W Singapore restaurants generally run 10am to 10pm. That matches Bedok Mall's 10am to 10pm shopping hours, but the Bedok Mall kitchen may open later for breakfast skippers or stay open with the last mall crowd. Wait for the locator.
How to use the next four weeks
If you want the first-week crush, watch A&W Singapore on Facebook and Instagram rather than CapitaLand's events page. Brand pages usually drop the unit number and a "now open" graphic a few days before the till turns on. The hoarding already says Bedok Mall, so you can walk the Level 1 and Basement corridors now and spot the orange boards without a unit code.
Do not mix this up with the existing Bedok Mall dining set. McDonald's is already at #01-10/11. CHAGEE, BatterCatch, and Toast & Roll were the 2026 openings we covered earlier. A&W is a separate fit-out. If you are in the mall for those, the hoarding is the thing to photograph for friends who still talk about the old Block 204 mug.
Until an opening date exists, the honest advice is boring. Eat at Tampines Junction if you need A&W this month. Mark October. Refresh the store locator. Ignore "opening tomorrow" rumours that are not on the brand's own channels.
