Nine hawker centres in Bedok shut for scheduled cleaning between 16 November and 29 December 2026. The longest closure is Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre, 勿洛转换站熟食中心, from 7 to 11 December. If you eat there on the way out of EW5, that is a full working week of shutters. This is the National Environment Agency's fourth-quarter wash, published in the Dates of Hawker Centres Closure dataset on data.gov.sg. It is a different round from the September dates already on this site.
NEA last refreshed that dataset on 19 October 2026. Lookup.sg mirrors the same file and lists the Bedok dates in the same order. Yahoo Life Singapore carried SethLui's 2026 islandwide table earlier in the year, and the Q4 Bedok rows match. When a blog and the CSV disagree, trust the CSV. Here they agree.
East Coast Lagoon Food Village already closed 12 to 14 October. That one is done. Do not walk to the lagoon in November expecting another wash. The next Bedok dates start at Block 216.
November first
Block 216 Bedok Food Centre and Market, 216勿洛熟食中心与巴刹, at 216 Bedok North Street 1, closes Monday 16 to Friday 20 November 2026. Five days. That is the wet market plus the cooked-food stalls, so the morning vegetable run and the satay bee hoon queue both stop. The centre is a short walk from Bedok MRT through the town-centre blocks. When 216 is down, Interchange at 208B New Upper Changi Road is still open. So is 85 Fengshan. Eat there instead of circling the closed 216 courtyard.
Then two centres go together from Monday 30 November to Friday 4 December. Bedok North Street 3 Block 538, and The Marketplace at Block 58 New Upper Changi Road. Five days each. 538 sits in the Bedok North blocks north of the town centre. 58 is the older market along New Upper Changi Road, not the Interchange hawker. People mix those two up because both say New Upper Changi. 58 is 58. Interchange is 208B. Different buildings, different weeks.
The December week that actually bites
Monday 7 December is messy. Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre closes 7 to 11 December. Bedok Food Centre at 1 Bedok Road, 勿洛熟食中心, closes 7 to 9 December. Kaki Bukit 511 Market and Food Centre at 511 Bedok North Street 3 closes on 7 December only. If you live near the MRT, Interchange is the one you will hit with an empty stomach. Seventy cooked-food stalls, one minute from the station. Inspirasi, Pin Xiang, Hock Hai, the chwee kueh, the prawn noodles. All off for five days, including the weekend in the middle of that stretch. 7 December is a Monday. 11 December is a Friday. The centre should be back on Saturday 12 December, unless NEA posts a delay.
Bedok Food Centre is the open-air satay and stingray stop near Tanah Merah and Bedok Camp, not the Interchange. Three days, 7 to 9 December. If you were planning a lagoon-side dinner that week, the lagoon itself is open. The Bedok Road centre is not.
Kaki Bukit 511 is one day. Monday 7 December. Easy to miss because it is only a Monday. The people who eat there before work will find a locked gate and have to walk.
Monday 14 December is Bedok Reservoir Road Block 630 for one day, and Pasar 16 at Block 16 Bedok South Road from 14 to 18 December. Five days at Pasar 16. Reservoir 630 is the small centre by the park blocks, not the reservoir loop itself. Pasar 16 is Bedok South, closer to the old East Coast Road edge than to the MRT.
Last on the list is 85 Fengshan Centre, 丰山熟食中心, at 85 Bedok North Street 4. Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 December. Two days, right after Christmas. This is the bak chor mee supper centre. Xing Ji and Seng Hiang will be dark those two nights. Interchange will already be back by then. If you only remember 85 for late bowls, move that supper to the Interchange or wait until 30 December.
Whole-centre cleaning means every stall, including drinks. Individual hawkers still take their own rest days outside these windows. A centre that is "open" on a Tuesday can still be missing your usual stall. The CSV does not track Uncle's Monday off.
Where to go when Interchange is shut 7 to 11 December: 216 is open that week. 538 reopens 5 December, so it is open too. 85 is open until 28 December. Bedok Food Centre is shut 7 to 9 December, so do not bounce from the Interchange to 1 Bedok Road on those three days. The honest move from EW5 is 216, or 85 if you want bak chor mee after dark.
When 216 is shut 16 to 20 November, Interchange is the fallback. That is the easier swap, because both sit in the town centre. You will not be the only person who makes it. Expect a longer queue at Interchange that week, then the reverse in December.
NEA's hawker-management page says it cleans the centres it manages, and town councils clean HDB-owned ones. The dates still sit in one national file. Treat the CSV as the planning list, then glance at the centre's own notice the week before if your stall is in an HDB block. Closures sometimes move by a day when a public holiday or a repair overruns. Nothing in the 19 October file flags a Bedok repair closure through year-end. Telok Blangah Rise and Clementi West are the long R&R jobs, not here.
