Race Against Cancer returns to Angsana Green on 20 September

The 18th Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer is on Sunday 20 September 2026 at Angsana Green, East Coast Park. Flag-off window on the official site is 7am to 10am. Physical race registration and qualifying closed 23 August. Fundraising stays open until 15 October. If you already qualified, the race guide is on raceagainstcancer.org.sg. If you missed the physical cut, the virtual 21km and 42km on Strava still take registrations until 19 September.

Race Against Cancer 2026 runner story from the Singapore Cancer Society site

Angsana Green sits on East Coast Park Service Road, in Bedok's backyard. Bus 197, 401, and the East Coast Park shuttle are the usual ways in if you are not driving. Parking fills before 6.30am on race Sundays. I would treat this like a National Day parade crowd, not a casual park jog. Arrive an hour early. Look for the red and white tents, the same cue SCS used last year.

Distances, money, and what you actually get

Physical categories on the 2026 site:

  • 2km parent and child fun run. Minimum $100 fundraising. 300 slots. Two adults plus one child. T-shirt, race pack, e-certificate, participation medal. Limited.
  • 5km fun run, non-competitive. Minimum $60. T-shirt, pack, certificate. No medal.
  • 10km challenge. Minimum $65. Finisher medal.
  • 15km competitive. Minimum $75. Finisher medal.

Virtual 21km needs $65 raised and 21km on Strava between 20 September and 15 October. Virtual 42km needs $75 and 42km in the same window. Link Strava under My Profile, then My Activity, or the miles do not count. Donations carry a 250 percent tax deduction. The campaign target is $1.6 million. The homepage ticker was already past $1.23 million and 6,700 participants when I checked on 12 September.

Why Bedok, and what to do after you finish

East Coast Park is the point. You run along the water, not a stadium loop. Hydration partner is 100PLUS. First aid is St John. Pacers come from Running Department. That is the operational list from the official partners block, not a brochure flourish. Flag-off times for each wave live in the 2026 race guide PDF. Do not invent a 7.15am 15km start from last year's page. Download this year's guide.

After you finish, Bedok Mall is a short ride inland if you want breakfast that is not a banana from the race village. Hei Kitchen in Upper Changi is already on this site if you want zi char instead. The park itself will be messy until late morning. Cyclists still use the park connector. Keep left.

Physical qualifying is closed. Do not show up on 20 September without a bib. Virtual runners can still register through 19 September, raise the minimum by 15 October, and clock miles on Strava. Fundraising for everyone continues to 15 October even after race day. If you are running in memory of someone, the site asks you to share that on registration. A few of those notes are published as Stories of Hope. That is the tone of this event. It is a fundraiser that happens to use a park in Bedok, not a PB hunt.
